How we work
Three principles shape every programme, publication and partnership we take on.
Equality
We design every programme, publication and service to be accessible regardless of gender, age, origin, ability or social status, and we make sure under-represented voices take part in the work, not only benefit from it.
Transparency
We publish our methodology together with our findings, state who funds and partners on each initiative, and keep our decisions, criteria and results open to scrutiny.
Accountability
We commit to measurable objectives, evaluate our own results as rigorously as we evaluate institutions, and correct course publicly when evidence shows we should.
Three strategic pillars
Human Rights
Rights-based legal frameworks, access to justice and the protection of fundamental freedoms.
Good Governance
Transparency, accountability, institutional reform and democratic participation.
Security
Rule-of-law security, resilience of institutions and protection against hybrid threats.
Our areas of expertise
Beyond the services we offer, these are the thematic fields our researchers and practitioners work in.
Democratic Governance
